Bregenz Festival adds La traviata performance for 2027

The Bregenz Festival has added a performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s La traviata to its 2027 season, bringing the total on its lake stage to 29. ORF reported the announcement on Tuesday.
The extra performance is scheduled for August 23. The production, directed by Damiano Michieletto, will return for a second summer after strong demand for tickets.
About 60 percent of the roughly 195,000 tickets available for the 2027 lake-stage performances have already been booked, the festival’s commercial director, Michael Diem, said.
All 28 performances this summer sold out, drawing about 193,500 visitors. The festival’s full programme attracted around 275,000 people during its 80th anniversary year, a visitor record. The 2027 programme will be presented on November 19, 2026.
