Visitors cannot currently reach the Titlis from Engelberg because of a technical fault, SRF reported Monday.
On Saturday, about 200 people were evacuated after an electrical fault on the Titlis Connect cable car, most of them by helicopter. A spokesperson for Titlis cable car operator Titlis-Bergbahnen confirmed the incident to Keystone-SDA.
The cable car stopped at about 10:30 a.m. No one was inside it at the time, and nobody was in danger, the spokesperson said. Technicians arrived early Saturday afternoon to repair the damage, and the cable car remained out of service while they worked.
It is unclear whether the current disruption is connected to Saturday’s fault. A summit trip is not currently possible. The Titlis is about 3,200 metres high and is a popular winter sports and excursion destination in Central Switzerland.
