Liste Fritz targets 15% and opens door to FPÖ talks

Tyrolean party Liste Fritz is aiming to win 15% of the vote in next year’s state election and would speak with any party about joining a government, including the FPÖ, ORF reported.

Top candidate Andrea Haslwanter-Schneider set the target at the party’s public meeting in Innsbruck on Saturday. Liste Fritz won just under 10% in the 2022 election. She said reaching voters who did not vote would again be important.

Haslwanter-Schneider said she was willing to talk to all parties after the election, saying it was a matter of “decency” to include the FPÖ. An internal survey of 700 Liste Fritz members found that 26% could envisage a coalition with the Freedom Party.

Joining a government is not essential, Haslwanter-Schneider said, adding that the party could also have an impact from opposition. The election is scheduled for October 2027, though Liste Fritz said it was prepared for an early vote.
