Quality bread gains popularity in Burgenland

High-quality bread is a growing trend in Burgenland, ORF reported, with some people baking it themselves and others choosing premium bread and paying more for it.

On Friday, World Bread Day celebrated the food, which is not only a staple but also an increasingly sought-after treat. The Burgenland Chamber of Commerce says 55 bakeries in the state produce a wide range of breads and pastries every day.

The bakers’ guild says the trade combines centuries-old traditions with innovation. Thirteen apprentices are currently training as bakers in Burgenland.
