A 37-year-old man from Klagenfurt admitted setting fire to cardboard boxes outside a shop in the city centre early Friday, ORF Kärnten reported. His motive was unclear.
Klagenfurt’s professional fire brigade was called at about 1.20 a.m. to a fire in Wienergasse. Crews quickly extinguished the flames, preventing more extensive damage, but the building’s facade and a shop window were damaged.
The man returned while firefighters were at the scene and was identified by police as a suspect. He admitted the offence and will be reported to the Klagenfurt public prosecutor’s office.
