Police arrest two men after Forchtenstein burglary

Two men were arrested after a burglary in Forchtenstein, in Mattersburg district, ORF reported.

The suspects, Georgian nationals aged 45 and 46, had been under surveillance by Vienna’s task force for combating street crime since October 12, Burgenland police said. The following day, officers saw them enter a detached house through a basement window.

They were arrested after leaving the house. Police said they were carrying jewellery suspected of being stolen. The men were transferred to Eisenstadt prison, and Burgenland’s State Criminal Police Office took over the investigation.
