Salzburg has sold 20,000 tickets for Thursday’s Europa League match against AC Milan, ORF reported. The 18:45 kickoff at the stadium in Kleßheim, Wals-Siezenheim, could cause heavy traffic during rush hour.
The match is not sold out. AC Milan’s squad is estimated to be worth around €500 million, but Salzburg coach Danny Röhl said his team had a chance if it played without mistakes and used its strengths.
“In a match like this, you have to play without errors. In international football, small mistakes are punished quickly,” Röhl said. “If we perform well, I believe AC Milan will also have problems at times.”
Milan, coached by Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim, has not yet hit top form. The Italian side lost its opening Europa League match 2-0 at home to Benfica and was beaten 2-1 by Sassuolo in its league match most recently.
The game will also reunite Salzburg with Serbian defender Strahinja Pavlovic, who played for the club from 2022 to 2024 and made 71 competitive appearances before joining Milan.
