About 90 exhibitors are presenting training options, apprenticeships and schools at the BiBi careers fair in Oberwart, which is open to students until Friday, ORF reported.

Schools, companies and public services are taking part in the event, which aims to help young people explore career options. The Güssing Agricultural College is drawing strong interest, despite mounting pressure on agriculture from weather extremes. Director Gerhard Müllner said businesses need skilled workers and that agriculture and equine businesses offer career prospects.

Among the first-time exhibitors is Licht Loidl, a company with locations in Lafnitz and Pinkafeld and about 700 employees. Herbert Krug said it needs around 15 to 20 apprentices each year in fields including electrical engineering, heating, air conditioning, ventilation and plumbing.

Burgenland education minister Daniela Winkler described the fair as an established institution, saying it brings education, training and work together while representing the region’s economy. The fair remains open until Friday afternoon.
