Salzburg’s largest flea market will open at a new location beside the Europark commuter rail station on Friday and Saturday, ORF reports. The annual event, organised by the Lions Club Hohensalzburg, is being held for the 62nd time.
A tent village with 22 tents has been set up in a large car park in front of the Europark shopping centre. The move from the space between IKEA and the shopping centre was required because of the centre’s expansion and related construction work. All the tents at the new location have wooden floors.
The flea market is the club’s main source of funding for charitable and social projects, bringing in about 100,000 euros each year. Donations of goods are being accepted until Thursday, before sales begin on Friday.
