Salzburg Airport is looking for about 100 seasonal workers for the winter tourism season, ORF reports. The temporary jobs will run from mid-November to the end of March.
Positions include aircraft handling, baggage sorting, passenger services, work on the apron, cleaning, medical care for travellers and technical roles.
On peak days, as many as 170 aircraft take off from and land at the airport, carrying up to 26,000 passengers. Travellers come from countries including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Israel and Germany. Visitors from other countries also reach Salzburg via German airports.
Last winter, Salzburg Airport added staff for aircraft handling and passenger services with help from Nuremberg Airport in Germany, where flight numbers were much lower during the winter months. About 20 seasonal employees from Nuremberg helped mainly with passenger services, including check-in, meeting and assisting passengers at aircraft, and helping at check-in kiosks. They were already trained to use the relevant systems.
