Police detain man after reported firearm threat in Eisenstadt

Police in Eisenstadt carried out two separate large-scale operations on Friday evening, detaining a man who allegedly threatened people with a firearm, ORF reported.

The first operation took place at a residential complex on Neusiedler Straße after a report of a dangerous person in the area. The man reportedly acted defiantly toward responding officers. Police said they had taken a “dangerous male person” into custody.

A second operation was launched on Bahnstraße after passers-by reported hearing shots. Police later told ORF Burgenland that teenagers had apparently thrown firecrackers. Both operations have ended.
