A 19-year-old alerted police to a driver who repeatedly veered into oncoming traffic on the B1 near Wels, ORF reported. A breath test later showed the driver had 1.76 per mille of alcohol in his system.

The teenager spotted the car heading towards Wels at about 2 a.m. on Friday. Police said the driver also accelerated sharply, and two near-collisions with oncoming vehicles had already occurred.

The 19-year-old called police and followed the car from a safe distance, allowing officers to track it and stop it in Wels. The driver was a 62-year-old man from the city. Police seized his driving licence at the scene.
