Robert Antoni replaces Vinzenz Knor as Güssing mayor

Robert Antoni has replaced Vinzenz Knor as mayor of Güssing, the district capital, in a planned change confirmed by the SPÖ’s Burgenland leadership on Thursday evening, ORF reported.

Knor had been mayor since 2012, when he took the office from the ÖVP. He stepped down because he will not run in next year’s mayoral election.

A mayor can be chosen by the municipal council one year before municipal elections. The SPÖ holds 14 of the council’s 25 seats in Güssing.
