Police recover stolen car at Croatian border
A car stolen from a construction company’s premises in the Wolfsberg district was recovered at the Croatian border two days later, ORF reported. A 31-year-old man from the Neunkirchen district in Lower Austria is suspected of stealing it.
Police said officers had checked the man on October 4 after receiving a report of suspicious activity. The car was stolen from the construction company’s premises in Wolfsberg district at about 7.45pm that day. After reviewing video footage, investigators linked the theft to the man.
The vehicle was flagged for police searches and stopped by Croatian officers during a border crossing at about 2.45am on October 6. It was seized. After the investigation is complete, the suspect will be reported to the public prosecutor on suspicion of aggravated theft.
