E-scooter rider seriously injured in fall near Villach

A 22-year-old man was seriously injured in an e-scooter fall in the Villach district on Wednesday evening, ORF reported. A test later found the scooter could reach speeds of up to 74 km/h.
The man was riding on the R3 cycle path from Arnoldstein towards Villach at about 6.20pm. Witnesses said he was travelling at increased speed. At the same time, a car driver was preparing to leave a nearby car park and join the B83 road.
The scooter rider fell without colliding with the car. After receiving initial treatment, he was flown by rescue helicopter to Klagenfurt Hospital.
