Salzburg’s last outdoor pool closes as temperatures top 24C

Salzburg’s last outdoor pool of the season closed on Wednesday, 7 October, as afternoon temperatures climbed above 24 degrees. ORF reported that several swimmers made use of the final chance to swim outdoors at the AYA-Bad pool on Alpenstrasse.
The AYA-Bad opened for outdoor swimming on 17 April. The city’s other two outdoor pools, the Lepi in Leopoldskron and Volksgartenbad, closed on 20 September.
The three pools recorded more than 249,000 visits this season, a new record. They counted 177,541 visits in 2025 and 207,741 in 2024.
