Worker suffers severe head injuries in Graz construction accident

A 40-year-old worker was seriously injured in a construction accident in Graz-Geidorf on Wednesday, ORF reported. His head became trapped between a scissor lift and a concrete ceiling.

The man was installing ceiling profiles with a colleague on a construction site on Goethestrasse shortly after 8 a.m. when, for reasons not yet known, the lift caught him and pinned his head against the ceiling.

After receiving initial medical treatment, he was taken to Graz University Hospital. The labour inspectorate was notified, and police said further inquiries were needed.
