Bomb disposal team defuses 250-kilogram bomb in Graz

A 250-kilogram Second World War bomb discovered in Graz was defused on Wednesday, causing traffic disruption and a large police response, ORF reported.

An excavator uncovered the bomb at about 3 p.m. near Köflacher Bahnhof, a railway station in the Gries district. Authorities established a 200-metre exclusion zone and closed the GKB railway line.

Tram and bus services in the area were also affected, while local diversions were set up for other traffic. Police patrols and the bomb disposal service attended the scene. The bomb was defused at about 4.30 p.m.
