Prosecutors confirm Ager discovery site was murder scene

Prosecutors in Wels have confirmed that the place where a 53-year-old woman was found dead in Vöcklabruck was also where she was killed, ORF reported. No suspect has been arrested.

Children playing near the Ager found the woman’s body on September 1. She was from Laakirchen in the Gmunden district and had been a patient at Salzkammergut Hospital. She had not returned from a planned outing from the psychiatric clinic.

An autopsy found that she died from multiple stab wounds. The investigation is being conducted as a murder case.

The Wels public prosecutor’s office has not released further details about the investigation, possible suspects or a motive. The investigation is ongoing.
