Man arrested after alleged attack leaves victim with serious facial injuries
A 36-year-old man suffered serious facial injuries in an alleged attack at a petrol station in Linz on Monday evening, ORF reports. Police said a 43-year-old Czech citizen repeatedly punched and kicked him.
Several police patrols were called to the station on Dinghoferstraße at about 8.35pm. Officers said they found the victim, several witnesses and the suspect, who was fleeing. He was stopped after a brief foot chase.
Police said the suspect acted aggressively and resisted officers, who restrained him and took him to the Linz police detention centre. The victim, a Hungarian citizen, was taken by ambulance to Med Campus III hospital.
After questioning the victim and several witnesses, police consulted the Linz public prosecutor’s office. The suspect was then taken to Linz prison.
