Salzburg pools end record season with 249,053 visits

Salzburg’s three municipal outdoor pools recorded 249,053 visits in 2026, a record for the city, ORF reports. The AYA outdoor pool will open for its final day on Wednesday before the season ends.
The AYA, Volksgarten and Leopoldskron pools had counted 246,957 visits by September 20, already surpassing previous records. Late-summer temperatures kept the AYA pool open, bringing in another 2,096 visits from September 21 through October 4.
Deputy Mayor Christoph Brandstätter of the ÖVP called it a record season and thanked visitors and staff. The AYA pool was the first of the city’s outdoor pools to open this year, on April 17.
By September 20, the pools had recorded 177,541 visits in 2025 and 207,741 in 2024.
