Unknown suspects hurl stolen produce at 21 cars

Unknown perpetrators allegedly stole watermelons, pumpkins and potatoes and threw them at parked cars across the Weinviertel, damaging 21 vehicles, ORF reports. The damage is estimated to be in the mid-five-figure range.
The produce was reportedly taken from two farms that sell directly to customers in Auersthal and Schönkirchen-Reyersdorf, both in Gänserndorf district. The suspects are believed to have loaded it into a vehicle and thrown it at cars while driving through several municipalities overnight into Sunday.
Some vehicles were left with significant dents, and glass and lights were also damaged. The reported locations include Spannberg in Gänserndorf district, and Großengersdorf, Ulrichskirchen, Pillichsdorf, Bockfließ and Obersdorf, a locality in Wolkersdorf im Weinviertel, in Mistelbach district.
