Police investigate suspected attempted killing after Munich stabbing
Police in Munich are investigating a suspected attempted killing after a 21-year-old man was found with serious stab wounds near a bus stop, BR reported.
Passers-by found the heavily bleeding man near Scheidplatz at about 1.45am on Sunday. Emergency crews took him to hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. Police said he is no longer in life-threatening condition.
An immediate search for the attacker was unsuccessful. Investigators secured evidence at the scene, and the homicide squad took over the case. The circumstances and motive remain unclear, but police do not believe the man was a random victim.
The man is a German citizen who lives in Munich and is known to police for violent and property-related offences. Police are asking witnesses to provide information about the incident or the unknown attacker.
