Car rolls over after driver hits barrier on A14

A driver was injured when her car hit a barrier and rolled over on the A14 near Dornbirn on Sunday afternoon, ORF reported.

The crash happened near Dornbirn West in the direction of Germany. The woman failed to see a car beside her while moving into the overtaking lane. That driver braked and sounded the horn, avoiding a collision. Startled, the woman swerved and struck the concrete barrier.

First responders freed her from the overturned car. She was taken to Dornbirn Hospital with injuries of unspecified severity. An alcohol test was negative.

The motorway was fully closed for 35 minutes, then traffic was directed past the crash on the hard shoulder. All lanes reopened after about an hour. Emergency services, the Dornbirn fire brigade, ASFINAG, a towing service and four police patrols attended.
