Truck collision seriously injures 15-year-old moped rider

A 15-year-old moped rider was seriously injured in a head-on collision with a small truck in Wildon, in the Leibnitz district, on Sunday, ORF reported. Police said the teenager appears to have entered the oncoming lane.

The crash happened on a municipal road. The truck driver tried to swerve, but the impact threw the teenager into a roadside ditch. A rescue helicopter took him to the children’s clinic in Graz. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

ORF also reported that a 13-year-old girl died in a separate crash in Feldbach on Wednesday. She was riding a moped with her older sister when they collided with a truck.
