Vespa rider thrown 20 metres into field in car collision

A 49-year-old Vespa rider was injured in a collision with a car in Aurach am Hongar, in the Vöcklabruck district, shortly before noon on Sunday, ORF reported. The impact threw him about 20 metres into a field.

The rider, who was from the district, was travelling from Lenzing towards Aurach am Hongar on the Schörflinger regional road at about 11 a.m. A 69-year-old driver, also from the district, was crossing an intersection at Hainbach.

The scooter hit the car’s right rear door without braking. The driver called emergency services and gave first aid. The rider was taken to Salzkammergut-Klinikum in Vöcklabruck.
