A 38-year-old driver crossed into oncoming traffic on the Lofererstraße in Kirchbichl on Sunday afternoon and collided with a car driven by a 75-year-old, ORF reported. Several people were injured.
The 75-year-old suffered injuries to his abdomen and one hand. An ambulance took him to Kufstein Hospital.
The 38-year-old’s five-year-old son was in a child seat in the front passenger seat. His partner and their one-year-old son were in the back, with the younger child also properly secured. Police had not yet provided details on the nature or severity of the family’s injuries. They went to Kufstein Hospital themselves.
The cause of the crash remains unclear. The Lofererstraße was restricted to one lane during recovery work, and both cars were towed. After completing its inquiries, police will submit reports to the Innsbruck public prosecutor’s office and the Kufstein district authority.
