Police stop drink-driver travelling on damaged tyre

A 33-year-old driver was stopped in Waldneukirchen on Saturday night after police spotted his car travelling on a damaged front tyre, ORF reported. A breath test showed 1.24 per mille of alcohol.

The man, from the Kirchdorf district, was driving on the rim when a police patrol saw him at about 10.30pm. He told officers he had noticed the damage but intended to continue driving home.

Police provisionally confiscated his driving licence.
