Car hits pedestrian on crossing in Liezen, leaving her seriously injured

A 56-year-old woman was seriously injured when a car hit her on a pedestrian crossing in Liezen on Thursday, ORF Steiermark reported.

The woman was crossing at the junction of Bahnhofstraße and Döllacherstraße when the crash happened. The 25-year-old driver said he had been blinded by the sun and apparently did not see her. He was unable to stop in time, and the impact threw her to the ground.

She was taken to Rottenmann hospital, where she had to be placed in an induced deep sleep.
