Paraglider crashes after launch, injuring father and daughter

A 32-year-old man and his four-year-old daughter were injured when their tandem paraglider crashed shortly after take-off in Schwendau, Tyrol, on Wednesday, ORF reported.

The Austrian man and his daughter took off at about 1.45pm from the Penken paragliding launch site in the municipality of Schwendau, in the Zillertal. Initial information indicated that the paraglider’s lines became tangled during take-off, police said.

The pair fell from an unknown height and were injured on impact. After receiving first aid, they were flown by rescue helicopter to a hospital in Innsbruck.
