Police stop truck carrying unapproved fireworks and explosives

Police stopped a small truck carrying unapproved and unlabelled fireworks and explosives in Leisach, a place in the Lienz district, on Tuesday, ORF reported. The 50-year-old Polish driver was barred from continuing his journey.

The truck was stopped at 1.27pm during a targeted traffic check. Police said the driver had also breached a ban on trucks weighing more than 2.8 tonnes.

Officers found numerous violations of social regulations when they checked the driver card. They collected a provisional security payment and will report the driver and other people involved to the Lienz district authority.
