Phone scammer steals five-figure sum from Klagenfurt man

A phone scammer stole a five-figure sum from a 51-year-old man in Klagenfurt on Tuesday, ORF reported. The caller posed as an IT security employee of the man’s bank and gained access to his account.

The victim received several calls from the unidentified suspect, who won his trust and persuaded him to disclose his online banking credentials. Several thousand euros were then debited from the account.
