ORF streams debate on summer’s record heat and drought

ORF is streaming a public discussion on the consequences of an exceptionally hot and dry summer, with experts and members of the audience taking part at the Löwen inn in Tschagguns.

The summer recorded more hot days than any since weather records began. The average temperature was 3.1 degrees above the long-term mean, while rainfall was almost 40 percent below that of an average summer.

ORF moderator David Breznik is joined by Andreas Amann of the Vorarlberg state forestry department, water-management official Matthias Nester and meteorologist Klaus Marquardt. The discussion is also being broadcast live on Radio Vorarlberg. A summary will be available online after the event.
