Explosion in Neuchâtel injures at least four

An explosion in a residential building in Neuchâtel injured at least four people, one seriously, SRF reported. The building was evacuated and nearby streets were cordoned off.

<pNeuchâtel Cantonal Police confirmed to news agency Keystone-SDA that a major emergency response was under way. Police described the situation at the scene as “quite serious” in response to a query from regional newspaper Arcinfo, which first reported the incident.

Initial reports said the blast was powerful enough to tear off a garage door. Authorities are investigating the cause.
