Man loses consciousness during car repair in Styria

A 23-year-old man was injured while repairing his car in a garage in Riegersburg, in the Southeast Styria district, on Monday. He apparently lost consciousness after inhaling brake cleaner fumes, ORF reported.
The man was working beneath the car in an inspection pit and used several cans of brake cleaner to clean the brake discs. At about 5.30pm, he apparently passed out. His father found him unresponsive a short time later and called emergency services.
His father lifted him out of the pit. A Christophorus 12 rescue helicopter crew flew him to Graz Hospital with injuries of unspecified severity. Firefighters from Kornberg-Bergl, Riegersburg and Lödersdorf, as well as the Feldbach Red Cross, also attended.
