Kitzbühel authority finds no violations by chamber chief

The Kitzbühel district authority found no relevant violations by local Chamber of Commerce chairman Hermann Huber after investigating a complaint about material deposited on his property, ORF reported.

The complaint, filed by another business owner, alleged that tonnes of asphalt granulate and mixed demolition debris had been improperly dumped in a wooded area. The authority opened an investigation and commissioned waste-management and forestry assessments, but found no evidence of a relevant offence.

Huber, who is also a city councillor, denied the allegations from the outset. He said the property was a storage yard, not a forest, and that the material was needed to repair a forestry road. He also suggested the complaint was an act of revenge.

Despite finding no punishable violation, the authority has asked Huber to remove and properly dispose of what it calls “foreign materials,” including concrete pieces and roof tiles shown in photographs submitted with the complaint. He has been asked to inform the authority once this is done.
