Bus crash leaves three children in hospital, all out of danger

Five days after a serious kindergarten bus crash in St Marienkirchen am Hausruck in the Ried district, three children remain in hospital but are no longer in danger, ORF reported. The families and the municipality are still deeply concerned.

Mayor Günter Fisecker said he was withholding further details about the injured children’s condition out of consideration for their families.

The bus route has been changed as an initial measure. Fisecker said it was currently difficult for the same place where the crash occurred to be crossed and driven through again.

Experts will also examine whether the traffic routes can be made safer. The municipality has informed all parents in writing and offered support with questions, concerns and the process of dealing with the crash.

According to the mayor, the municipality will also hold personal discussions with the parents of the directly affected children.
