Farmer dies after being trapped in farm vehicle

A 59-year-old farmer died after being trapped in a farm vehicle in Lochen am See in the Braunau district on Monday evening, ORF reported.

The man was apparently trapped in a loader wagon in the middle of a field at around 5.40pm for reasons that remain unknown. He suffered such severe injuries that he died at the scene, the Austrian Red Cross confirmed.

A large emergency response was sent to the accident. Firefighters from Markt Friedburg, Lochen am See and Palting, along with the Red Cross and police, attended.

A crisis intervention team remained at the scene until 10pm to support the man’s relatives and the emergency responders.
