Admira Dornbirn opens new clubhouse after fire destroyed predecessor

SC Admira Dornbirn 1946 has opened a new clubhouse at the Rohrbach sports facility after fire destroyed the previous building in December 2024, ORF reported. The club also marked its 80th anniversary at the opening on Sunday.

The fire forced the club to use temporary arrangements for training and matches. The city and the club soon began planning the reconstruction.

The new building was constructed in wood on the existing structure, with existing components reused where possible. It covers about 960 square metres and includes changing rooms, club rooms, catering facilities, storage areas and technical rooms.

A green flat roof, a photovoltaic system and air-to-water heat pumps form part of the building’s sustainability concept. The clubhouse provides the infrastructure needed for training, matches and club activities.

Community was the focus of the opening, which brought together many familiar faces, shared memories and discussions about football.

Mayor Markus Fäßler of the Social Democratic Party said the city had wanted to support Admira quickly after the fire and was pleased to see the clubhouse filled with life again.

Sports councillor Barbara Röser of the Austrian People’s Party said Admira had represented football, youth development and a strong sense of togetherness for 80 years. Building councillor Christoph Waibel said sustainability had been considered from the outset, including the wooden construction, photovoltaic system and heating supply.
