Several public swimming pools in the canton of Zürich made an exception at the end of the bathing season by allowing dogs into the water, SRF reported. At the Töss swimming pool in Winterthur, the head lifeguard expected up to 200 dog owners and their animals. The pools were kept free of chlorine especially for the event.

The dog swim at Töss was held for the third time at the end of the season. The pool said on its website that previous events had been a huge success.

Dogs were also welcomed for one day at the public pools in Opfikon and Neftenbach. In Neftenbach, a dog sports club organised the event as part of its 75th anniversary celebrations. At all three locations, the Sunday charge was one franc per paw and foot.
