Motorcyclist stopped after hitting 171 km/h on Susten Pass road

SRF reports that a 35-year-old French motorcyclist was measured travelling at 171 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on the Susten Pass road near Gadmen on Saturday afternoon.

The rider was recorded after 2.35pm near Eygräbli while travelling towards Gadmen, in the municipality of Innertkirchen in the canton of Bern. The speed was calculated after the legally prescribed tolerance had been deducted.

Bern cantonal police stopped the motorcyclist shortly afterwards. Once the investigation is complete, he will have to answer to the authorities under the legal provisions governing speeding offences.
