Motocross rider in life-threatening condition after Dechantskirchen crash

A 38-year-old man is in life-threatening condition after crashing his motocross bike in Dechantskirchen in the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district on Saturday, ORF reported. The man, from Lower Austria’s Baden district, fell after jumping over a hill.

The accident happened during the morning on a motocross training track. Police said the crash appeared to have occurred without the involvement of anyone else.

The rider had jumped over a hill about five metres high when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. He suffered life-threatening injuries.

Other motocross riders alerted emergency services and provided first aid. After an emergency medical team stabilised him, a rescue helicopter took him to LKH Graz hospital.

Police are still investigating the exact circumstances of the crash.
