The municipal council of Moosdorf in Braunau district has elected Jürgen Haas as mayor, according to ORF. He succeeds Manfred Emersberger, who stepped down on Friday after 20 years in office.

Haas, a 49-year-old technical employee and firefighter, had previously served as Moosdorf’s deputy mayor. Both politicians are members of the Social Democratic Party of Austria.
