Firefighters rescue cat from bridge pillar in Drau

Firefighters rescued a cat from a bridge pillar in the middle of the Drau river in Feistritz im Rosental on Saturday, ORF reported. The animal could not reach the shore on its own.

Firefighters used an emergency boat to reach the cat. With care and patience, they brought it safely aboard and then took it to the riverbank.

It remains unclear where the cat came from or how it reached the pillar. Until an owner comes forward, a nearby neighbour is caring for the animal.
