Burgenland women’s run returns to Frauenkirchen

Saturday 19th September 2026 on 12:00 in Austria

Burgenland, Frauenkirchen, women’s run

The Burgenland women’s run will take place in Frauenkirchen municipality on Sunday for the 13th time, with hundreds of runners expected to take part, ORF reported. The event aims to promote solidarity and equality alongside physical activity.

The race starts at 9:30 a.m. Participants can choose between two distances: 4.8 kilometres and 8.7 kilometres. A Nordic walking event will also be held.

Organisers said the focus was not on the fastest time but on the shared experience. The event is organised by the Department for Women, Anti-Discrimination and Equal Treatment in the Office of the Burgenland provincial government.

This year’s start in Frauenkirchen marks a return to the event’s roots. The first Burgenland women’s run was held there in 2013. Last year, 700 runners took part.
