S31 expressway closes between Weppersdorf and Neutal

The Burgenland S31 expressway will be completely closed in both directions between Weppersdorf and Neutal from Friday evening until Sunday midnight, ORF reported, citing ASFINAG.

The closure begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 18, and will remain in place until midnight on Sunday. Northbound traffic will be diverted at the Weppersdorf Markt St. Martin exit, while southbound traffic will be diverted at the Neutal exit.

The diversion route runs via the B50.

ASFINAG said the closure is necessary to demolish a bridge as part of safety upgrade work. The work is being carried out over one weekend because traffic volumes are lower during that period.

The route is expected to reopen without restrictions on Monday.
