Truck hits kindergarten bus in Upper Austria, injuring children

Three children were seriously injured, one critically, when a lorry collided with a kindergarten bus in St. Marienkirchen am Hausruck on Thursday, ORF Upper Austria reported.

Two children were unconscious when emergency crews arrived, police told ORF. The bus driver and a caregiver were also injured.

Several helicopters were deployed after the crash, and three children were flown to hospitals for further treatment. The extent of the other injuries was not initially known.

The cause of the collision remained unclear. Police drones were used to survey the crash site before clean-up work could begin, and police are investigating how the crash happened.
