ORF reports that the second eightfold jackpot in the 40-year history of Austria’s Lotto has been won, with €3.6 million going to a ticket holder in each of Burgenland, Styria and Lower Austria.
About €11 million was in the jackpot. The prospect of a large prize drew many people to tobacco shops and Lotto retailers in Burgenland. During an ORF Burgenland visit to a tobacco shop in Eisenstadt on Friday, the high demand repeatedly caused short waits at the checkout.
The winning numbers were 2, 7, 11, 16, 34 and 42. In Lower Austria and Styria, they were selected on standard tickets. In Burgenland, the winning combination came through a Quicktipp, as the fifth of six Quicktipp entries.
In Lower Austria, it was the second of two entries played. In Styria, it was the second of 10 entries.
