Truck and car collide head-on near Strass

Four people in a car and a truck driver were injured in a head-on collision on the Zillertal Road near Strass early Friday, ORF reported. Two of the injured were apparently seriously hurt.
The crash happened at about 5.30 a.m. at the junction of the Tirol Road and Zillertal Road, in front of the Brettfall Tunnel. The car was carrying three men and one woman when it collided with a timber truck travelling in the opposite direction.
Emergency doctors and several ambulances treated the injured before taking them to a clinic and hospitals in Kufstein and Schwaz. Police and firefighters from Strass and Schlitters also attended the scene.
The Zillertal Road and the Brettfall Tunnel were closed for about 90 minutes. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
