Hallein man arrested after assault and threatening police

A 32-year-old man from Hallein was arrested after injuring an acquaintance and resisting police, ORF reported. The incident happened on Tuesday, when the man fled the acquaintance’s apartment after the assault.

Police later found him at his girlfriend’s apartment. He reportedly used significant physical force during his arrest and threatened the officers present with death.

On instructions from the Salzburg public prosecutor’s office, the man was taken to Salzburg prison. He faces allegations of assault, resisting state authority and grievous bodily harm. He was intoxicated when he was arrested.
